Google launched a program with the aim to train 2 million developers in India for its Android operating system. Dubbed Android Skilling, the program will be presented for free at hundreds of public and private universities in India, as well as in colleges. The Mountain View company can count on the support of the Indian government, through the National Skills Development Corporation of India, to promote his program.
Become a real backbone for IT, India is expected to become the largest home developers in the world by 2018 with 4 million people, which would allow the nation to surpass the United States in this area. However, only a quarter of that quota should be dedicated to mobile development.
250,000 students trained each year
Alphabet’s subsidiary plans to make its program available for free to millions of Indians with the goal of making India the world leader in this sector. Google believes that India is uniquely positioned to innovate and shape the Internet experience for billions of users who are already connected or online soon on the mobile platform. Android Skilling program training capacity can reach more than 250,000 students each year in about 2000 universities across the country.
