How to Inspire Yourself to Get the Best Out of You

The monotonous life that we live calls for frustration, depression and anxiety. Everywhere around us, people are striving to achieve more in life. They prefer better luxury, better education and better standard of living. All of this calls for more hours at work, broken relationships and immense stress.

Stress is such an important issue in our world today, that many organizations have created a business around it – the relaxation techniques and spas that we visit so often when we need a bit of rejuvenation.

While hoping for a better standard of living is by no means wrong, how can we go about achieving the same without compromising on our inner peace? How do we, as individuals, inspire ourselves to get the best out of us?

Well, there is no shortcut to achieving peace of mind.

The first step in achieving peace of mind is to trust yourself. This provides a sense of optimism, which will then pave the way to extracting more out of life. Learn to trust that you can achieve goals and work toward them with utmost determination. Trust that you are a wonderful person and it’s not too late to start over.

The next step is to set realistic goals. Without setting goals, life becomes chaotic and the greater purpose of living gets lost by the mundane tasks of everyday living. When setting goals, it is important to set one goal at a time. Sometimes, people set too many goals and are unable to achieve them.

Setting any goal is a time consuming and difficult process. A commonly used framework is to set SMART goals – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely.

For a goal to be specific, the questions who, what, which, where, when, and why should be answered. As an example, it is easy to say ‘My goal is to live a healthy lifestyle’. However, a more specific goal would be ‘My goal is to be healthy by joining a fitness centre and working out at least four days a week, since a healthy body leads to a healthy mind’. The above goal is clear in what needs to be done. It also mentions why you would like to go about doing this.

Measurable refers to the process involved in ensuring that we are on the right track. It helps you to monitor progress and achieve the specific goals set out earlier. To be measurable, you should be able to understand when a specific goal is attained. In the example mentioned above, measurable could refer to amount of weight you wish to reduce. The same can be tracked by means of a weighing machine.

After having jotted down the goal, which is now specific and the ways to measure its success, the goal becomes more realistic. Attaining it is now just a matter of putting things in place. Finding the fitness centre that would suit you, enrolling in the centre and paying the required fees are steps that need to be taken in order for the goal to be attained.

It is important to note that goals should be realistic. While it is a good thing to dream big, setting unrealistic goals that are beyond our capacity would only make us more demotivated. Also, goals should be set such that you work towards achieving them. Shedding one kilo a month may seem like an easy task to some people and therefore, they would not be motivated to go to the fitness centre regularly.

Finally, goals should be timely. The goal has to be achieved within a specific time frame. For example, by when would you like to lose X kilos of weight? Within six months? Within a year? This helps people to work toward the goal with a target that needs to be fulfilled.

It is worthwhile to note that there can be different methods of achieving the same goal and not all methods are suited to an individual. It is by trial and error that we understand what works best for us.

Also, many times we may work hard, have determination, motivation and enthusiasm to work toward a goal. Yet, the end result may be a failure. In times like these, it is very easy to get discouraged and give up. The feeling of being a loser can cause substantial emotional damage, one that cannot be measured.

To avoid this, there are a couple of steps that can be taken. Meditation and yoga are proven methods to achieving inner peace. It helps you calm nerves and refreshes the mind. There are lot of health benefits associated with meditation.

Connecting with nature is yet another method of achieving tranquility. In our busy lives, we rarely stop and appreciate the beautiful nature, the blue skies, the rays of sunshine and everything that surrounds us. Make it a point to connect with nature at least once in a week. The effects can be surprising.

Eating healthy and balanced food is also a great method of being self-motivated. The food we eat has a direct impact on our mood and behavioral patterns. A diet, which incorporates all the essential nutrients would enable us to be refreshed.

Make it a habit to start reading books or watching videos about inspirational people and motivational talks. It can really get you pumped up and excited to start working on your goal. Their experiences and lessons can be a great advice for you to keep in mind when going through difficult times.

Above all, it is important to appreciate yourself when you succeed. Appreciation can work wonders in inspiring people to achieve more. By setting small goals and achieving them, a tiny pat on the back or an occasional indulgence would make you feel special and determined to work on the next goal.

In conclusion, there are many ways to inspire yourself to get the best out of you. Every person is unique and has a special talent that needs to be recognized. After recognizing it, work on it to being more confident and enthusiastic in the eyes of the world.

Long ago I read a story.A businessman gets big lost in his business and go to a lot of depression & Always stressed. There was no other work to do for him.One day his 6 year old boy forced him to make a boat. The he started making the boat thinking that the time would pass.It was evening to finish building the boat. The man was surprised by the fact that he did not have any tension during the whole time of the boat making. Then he turned his attention to his business for a innovation start up.

You only tension when you have free time. So we should always keep ourselves busy in work. Actually, if a specific goal is to work with attention, nothing is impossible.

Indeed, life can pull us down and we just don’t have the motivation to keep up. However, with us learning the proper way to go about life, with proper skill development, we can hack it. We’re experts at setting goals. Today we’ll do 10 different things. And by the end of the month, we’ll nail all those, plus one million more. Sounds like a plan, right? Truth is, it’s much easier to set goals than to actually get them done. It all comes down to motivation, and I will be honest: We have trouble keeping the fire lit. (It’s so much easier to sit back and think about all the things we’re going to do… eventually.) So if you’re not entirely sure what your endgame is, try tracking what makes you happy. Add it to your list, then take a peek and let it motivate you when it’s drizzling and working out sounds like the worst idea ever. Where there’s no will, there’s no way. One of the best ways to improve our personal effectiveness is to master our motivation and find our drive. If you can master motivation, you can deal with life’s setbacks, as well as inspire yourself to always find a way forward, and create new experiences for yourself, and follow your growth.
