Adelaide Airport partners with Amadeus to expand the Airport IT business to achieve operational excellence and high passenger satisfaction.
With an annual traffic volume of 8 million passengers, growth forecasts anticipating more than 18 million passengers by 2034 and aiming to become a premier business center in Asia Pacific, Adelaide Airport is resolved to expand its airport operations and materialize its expansion plans.
To realize this strategy, the airport will replace its current key operational computing media with Amadeus’ automated and expandable systems. These sophisticated cloud-based aeronautical and airport data management systems are Australasia’s first-of-its-kind, and the agreement will make Adelaide Airport a leader in operational data management.
Amadeus’s cloud-based technology will optimize the management of aircraft parking, boarding gates, check-in desks, customer information points and other terminal services critical to the operation of Adelaide Airport.
The agreement to implement the first airport management system hosted in the Australasia cloud will involve the introduction of three Amadeus solutions at Adelaide Airport: an operational airport database, a solid airport resource management solution and an Information screens on flights.
The key advantages of these modules include:
Accurate and timely flight and passenger data
Data, in the form of thousands of flight information segments, Passengers, luggage, and equipment, make up the core of any airport and determine how its ecosystem works. Thanks to this agreement with Amadeus, Adelaide Airport will be able to access high-quality, cloud-based operational data that will allow you to better plan your daily needs, proactively manage your day-to-day operations and prepare you for the operational demands of the future.

Automated resource optimization
By deploying Australasia’s first fully automated terminal resource management system, Adelaide Airport will be able to manage and allocate its main resources (aircraft parking stands, check-in counters, boarding doors, etc.) without the need for their operators to intervene and will be in a position to provide more assistance to airlines to reach their performance targets within the allotted time frame.
Advanced scenario modeling
The new airport management system has advanced forecasting tools with which the airport can quickly assess different situational scenarios at its terminals and identify the most effective solution for both passengers and airline customers.
Industry-leading flight and baggage information screens
By seamlessly integrating resource planning with accurate flight data, Adelaide Airport will be able to provide highly accurate information on flights, Boarding doors, and luggage collection tapes throughout the terminal to keep passengers informed as they travel through their facilities.
Anticipating future needs
In order to ensure improvements in passenger experience, it is essential that airport stakeholders (airlines, carriers, and ground handlers) focus their efforts on collaboration and the communication. By integrating global standards for airport collaborative decision-making (A-CDM), Amadeus’s new airport management system places Adelaide Airport at the forefront of this technology in Australasia.
