    Cultivating good general work attitude is crucial if you want to increase your chances of success at work. It is true that employers look for the people with the right skills training and knowledge to complete a job. However, all else being equal – a majority of employers would tell you that a person’s attitude is as important if not more. It may seem as if skills and experience are the most important characteristics of an employee, but attitude plays just as big of a role. After all, what good are great professional skills without the attitude to see it all through? A positive business atmosphere is necessarily guided by its leadership. A good leader needs an “instrument panel” that shows the organization’s true orientation relative to its goals. It involves leading by example, clear and specific skill training and direction, and listening to and responding to concerns. In the long run, you are sure to hit some brick walls when it comes to maintaining a positive attitude at your job. But the main thing to remember is that you are the one with the power. You can decide to live a positive life, see the good in any situation, and work to resolve conflict in a reasonable and stress-free way. And realizing that you can stay or leave at your will can often make a work situation a lot more bearable. So don’t sweat the small stuff. Just keep your chin up, smile as much as you can, and remind yourself that life is only as good as you make it.

    Very interesting list of traits a team player should have from the get-go. However, I think it would take a lot of getting used to in the skills development department especially for the newbies. Newbies or even job-seekers (like me) might find it very intimidating to “make the difference” on the workplace. Sometimes they succumb to being average, to mum their questions in silence, or sometimes to just listen and accept what they hear. “Making the difference” also depends on receptive audience. In some cases where intergenerational gaps may be present, it would be very hard to “make the difference”. I think, if one should be courageous enough to make the difference, s/he should also be humble and open-minded enough to receive critical inquiries or viewpoints in return.
